RESOLUTION NO. 2001-90
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
AVIARA PARKWAY AND KESTREL DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL,
PROJECT NO. 3369-2.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct a trafftc signal at the intersection of
Aviara Parkway and Kestrel Drive; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental of said project have been
prepared and are on file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are
incorporated by reference herein; and
WHEREAS, said project was ranked #13 in the 2000 Traffic Signal Qualification List and
included in the 1999/2000 Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, funding from Assessment District 68-01 includes sufficient funds to construct
this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications and contract documents as presented are hereby
approved.

3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of the
Aviara Parkway and Kestrel Drive Traffic Signal, Project No. 3369-2, in accordance with the
plans, specifications and contract documents referred to herein.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 27th day of March ,200l by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard and Hall.
NOES: None.
