A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A 1995/96 - 1996/97 VEHICLE REGISTRATION FUND
GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD AND
THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT
FOR THE COASTAL RAIL TRAIL PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is actively pursuing the design and construction of the
Coastal Rail Trail Project; and
WHEREAS, on February 17, 1997, the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District
(APCD) approved the 1996/96-l 996/97 Vehicle Registration Funding Allocation Plan that
included the appropriation of $184,176 for the Coastal Rail Trail Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens to enter into
the agreement with APCD for the utilization of $184,176 for the preparation of the design plans
and construction specifications for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE’ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California the following:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the 1995/96 - 1996/97 Vehicle
Registration Fund grant contract with the City of Carlsbad and the San Diego County Air Pollution
Control District for the Coastal Rail Trail Project.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 18th day of SeDteder t 2001 by the following vote, to
wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, and Hall.
1 Member Nygaard.
