HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-12-04; City Council; Resolution 2001-3481 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 2% RESOLUTION NO. 2001-348 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF EIGHT THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS ($8,732) IN CASH AND TWENTY EIGHT THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FNE DOLLARS ($28,175) IN MERCHANDISE AND IN-KIND SERVICES FOR A TOTAL OF THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVEN ($38,907) IN SUPPORT OF THE ANNUAL CARLSBAD TRIATHLON. WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Triathlon was held on July 28M & 29”, 2001, in Carlsbad; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the donations of cash, merchandise, and in-kind service donations totaling $36,907 in support of the Carlsbad Triathlon, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support of community vendors and organizations who donated to this special event; and, WHEREAS, on August 20ti, 2001, the Parks and Recreation Commission received individual donations and in-kind services totaling thirty-six thousand, nine hundred seven ($36,907) and recommends acceptance by the Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, the following: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City Council does hereby accept $8,732 in cash and $28,175 in merchandise and in- kind service donations totaling thirty-six thousand, nine hundred seven dollars ($36,907) which is identified as Exhibit 2. 3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the above funds, for the use specified by the donators into the following account: $8,732 into Triathlon Trust Special Supplies, account #149 4502 7899. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 4th day of DECEMBER , 2001, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaa NOES: None ABSENT: None ATTEST: KAREN R.
