RESOLUTION NO. 2002-079
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA FORMALLY ADOPTING A
NEW NAME FOR ZONE 19 COMMUNITY PARK
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has previously
adopted City Council Policy Number 48 which sets forth the process for formally naming
City facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously appropriated funds for the
development of “Zone 19 Community Park,” hereafter referred to as the ”park;” and
WHEREAS, the City has solicited public input and suggestions for names for said
park; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Parks and Recreation Commission adopted its
Resolution Number 202-5 on February 21, 2002 formally recommending the park be
named “Aviara Community Park.”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council does hereby approve the recommendation of the Carlsbad

Parks and Recreation Commission and formally adopts the name of "Aviara
Community Park" as the ofticial name for the park.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 12th day of MARCH , 2002 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Hall
