RESOLUTION NO. 2002-166
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITYOF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
DONATION OF $22,000 FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE
CARLSBAD LIBRARY TO THE CARLSBAD CITY
LIBRARY AND APPROPRIATING THE DONATION TO
THE LIBRARY GIFTS AND BEQUESTS FUND.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $22,000 to
the library, and;
WHEREAS, the library and the Friends have agreed that $17,000 of this
donation will be used for the purchase and installation of the shelving for the
Centro de Informacion and $5,000 will be used to purchase audio books for the
library collection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1, That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $22,000 from the Friends
of the Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby appropriates
these funds to the Library Gifts and Bequests Fund.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 11th day of
JUNE 2002 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard, Hall
NOES: None
