HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-08-06; City Council; Resolution 2002-233RESOLUTION NO. 2002-233 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT REGARDING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR CAPITAL FACILITIES. WHEREAS, a Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Carlsbad, California on November 5, 2002, at which there will be submitted to the voters the following measure: DO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD APPROVE SPENDING CITY FUNDS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES INCLUDING THE GENERAL FUND IN AN AMOUNT OVER $1 MILLION TO CONSTRUCT CAPITAL FACILITIES INCLUDING A SWIMMING POOL COMPLEX, TRAILS LINKAGES AND OPEN SPACE, A CITYISAFETY TRAINING FACILITY AND A PORTION OF CANNON ROAD, EAST OF COLLEGE (REACH 4)? NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does declare, determine and order as follows: 1. That the above recitation is true and correct. 2. That the City Council authorizes Claude Lewis Ann Kulchin Ramona Finnila Julie Nygaard to file written arguments regarding the City measures set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3. Division 9 of the Elections Code of the State of California, commencing with Elections Code section 9280, and to change the arguments until and including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which no arguments for or against said City measures may be submitted to the City Clerk. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 6th day of August ,2002 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard NOES: Council Member ABSENT: None $7&h2%?,= ORRAI E M.
