RESOLUTION NO. 2003-022
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM
THE INSTITUTE OF MUSEUM AND LIBRARY SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad desires to use outcome measures to measure its
performance; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library desires to develop a balanced scorecard
approach to outcome measures to measure its performance; and
WHEREAS, the Institute of Museum and Library Services offers the opportunity to
financially support research for the development of outcome measures for public
libraries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Library Director is authorized to apply for a grant in the amount of
$342,625 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to sign all necessary
documents.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of
January , 2003, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis , Finnila, Kulchin, Hall and Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
