HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-05-06; City Council; Resolution 2003-1141 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2303-114 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PURSUE TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT (TDA)ITRANSNET FUNDING FROM SANDAG FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES ON POINSETTIA LANE REACH C. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined that bicycle and pedestrian facilities shall be part of roadway improvements as indicated in the Circulation Element of the General Plan; and WHEREAS, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) has solicited from cities projects involving the construction of bicycle and pedestrian-related facilities; and WHEREAS, TDA and TransNet funds have been established and are available through SANDAG to local governments for construction of non-motorized improvements which include bicycle and pedestrian facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. 2. That the above recitations are true and correct. That the City Council authorizes the submittal of an application to the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) for the construction of bicycle and pedestrian facilities on Poinsettia Lane Reach C. The Deputy Public Works Director, Engineering Services, of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Carlsbad all necessary applications to implement and carry out the purposes specified in this resolution.
