A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OPERATIONS BUDGET TO ADD 0.5 FTE OF AN OFFICE
SPECIALIST I1 POSITION TO THE MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT
CARLSBAD, TO AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2002-03 SANITATION
WHEREAS, an Administrative Secretary and Senior Office Specialist in the Maintenance &
Operations Department are the primary source of clerical support to the Deputy Public Works Director, two
administrative managers and seven operations managers; and
WHEREAS, the new Office Specialist I1 position will replace a temporary employee currently
assigned reception and clerical support duties at the main Maintenance and Operations facility (formerly the
Carlsbad Municipal Water District); and
WHEREAS, since the development of a new Public Works Facility has been postponed, the need
for clerical support for the Maintenance & Operations Department is now more immediate and permanent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council hereby amends the FY 2002-03 Sanitation Operations Budget to add 0.5
FTE of an Office Specialist I1 position.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad held on the 6th day of MAY , 2003 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Kulchin, Hall, Packard
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
