RESOLUTION NO. 2003-145
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF $12,325 IN CASH AND
$38,562 IN SUPPORT OF THE 2002 AND 2003 CARLSBAD TRIATHLONS.
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Triathlon was held on July 27th & 2gth, 2002, and June 7th &
$26,237 IN MERCHANDISE AND IN-KIND SERVICES FOR A TOTAL OF
8th, 2003 in Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the donations of cash, merchandise, and
in-kind service donations totaling $38,562 in support of the Carlsbad Triathlon; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support of
community vendors and organizations that donated to this special event ; and
WHEREAS, on May 19'h, 2003 the Parks and Recreation Commission received
individual donations and in kind services $38,562 and recommended acceptance by the Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council does hereby accept $12,325 in cash and $26,237 in merchandise
and in-kind service donations totaling $38,562.

3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the above
funds, for the use specified by the donators into the following account: $12,325 into
Triathlon Trust Special Supplies, account #149 4502 7899.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the loth day of JUNE , 2003 by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Kulchin, Hall, Packard
NOES: None
