HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-11-18; City Council; Resolution 2003-3041 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2003-304 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE PROPOSED USE OF DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad’s application for funding under the US Department of Justice Assistance Fiscal Year 2003 Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program was approved in the amount of $34,408; and WHEREAS, these one-time funds can be used only to enhance, and not replace, law enforcement budgets and must be spent within two years from the receipt of the grant; and WHEREAS, a public hearing and advisory board must be held regarding the proposed use of the funds and must be held prior to the obligation of the funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has set a public hearing for Tuesday, December 2,2003, to accept comments on the proposed projects recommended by staff and Advisory Board for funding consideration under the US Department of Justice Assistance Fiscal Year 2003 Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held on the 18th day of November, 2003 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnm Kulchin, Hall and Packard CLAUDE A.
