HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-06-08; City Council; Resolution 2004-1841 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2004-184 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE INDUSTRIAL PARK PIPELINES, FOR THE ENCINA BASIN WATER RECLAMATION PROGRAM, PHASE II PROJECT, AND TRANSFER FUNDS. PROJECT NOS. 3887-C, 3667, AND 3930 AND TO APPROPRIATE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Industrial Park pipelines for the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project, Project Nos. 3887-C, 3667, and 3930; and WHEREAS, the Project also includes a pavement overlay component on the following streets: Faraday Avenue, Rutherford Road, Aston Avenue, Farnsworth Court, Balfour Court, Pascal Court, Priestly Drive, La Place Court, Geiger Court, Landau Court, Pasteur Court, Darwin Court, and Camino Vida Roble; and WHEREAS, the Project also includes a fiber optic conduit component along Faraday Avenue between the City’s Faraday Building, Farmer’s Building and the Safety Center; and WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to said project have been prepared and are on file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference herein; and WHEREAS, the pavement overlay component of the project is estimated to cost $1,705,100 and sufficient TransNet Local funds are allocated and will be appropriated with the 2003-04 Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, the fiber optic conduit component of the project is estimated to cost $93,600 and an appropriation from the General Capital Construction Fund is required to complete this portion of the overall project. That the above recitations are true and correct. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents on file in the City Engineer’s office, as described above for the Industrial Park Pipeline, for the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project Nos. 3887-C, 3667, and 3930 are hereby approved. 3. The District Secretary of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District is hereby authorized and directed to publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of the Industrial Park Pipelines, for the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project, Project Nos. 38874, 3667, and 3930 in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein. 4. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $93,600 from the General Capital Construction Fund for the fiber optic conduit portion of the project.
