HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-11-02; City Council; Resolution 2004-3441 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2004-344 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE INSTITUTE OF MUSEUM AND LIBRARY SERVICES (IMLS) CALLED “MUSEUMS FOR AMERICA” IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,100 AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) offered a new grant this year called “Museums for America”; and WHEREAS, the William D. Cannon Art Gallery was eligible to receive such a grant; and WHEREAS, a grant in the amount of $17,100 was awarded to the City of Carlsbad from IMLS to support the City’s Three-Part-Art outreach program, currently offered to Carlsbad schoolchildren; and WHEREAS, the IMLS grant is a 1:l matching grant that requires no new funding; and the Arts Office will use existing General Fund monies to meet the IMLS match requirement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2.
