RESOLUTION NO. 2005-01 5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF COASTAL RAIL TRAIL PHASE I, PROJECT NO. 3455, AND DECREASING APPROPRIATIONS.
WHEREAS, on July 6, 2004, the plans and specifications for Coastal Rail Trail Phase I,
Project 3455, were approved by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
iecessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Coastal Rail Trail Phase I; and
WHEREAS, twelve (12) sealed bids were received November 23,2004 at 4:OO pm; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible bid for the project was submitted by
3-D Enterprises, in the amount of $1,691,832; and
WHEREAS, excess appropriations totaling $236,162 exist in the federal portion of the
woject; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
Zalifornia, as follows

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the low bid submitted by 3-D Enterprises, in the amount of $1,691,832
s hereby accepted and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City
'or the construction of Coastal Rail Trail Phase I, Project No. 3455.
3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change orders

That the appropriations in the federal portion of the project are reduced by

5. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the bidder submitting the lowest
,esponsive bid executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance
iolicies, as described in the contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution.
The City Manager may grant reasonable extensions of time.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
ield on the 18th day of JANUARY , 2005 by the following vote, to wit:
