A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE
NORTH BATIQUITOS LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENTS,
PACKAGE “B”, PROJECT NO. 3809-2.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the North Batiquitos Lift Station
Improvements, Package “B”, Project No. 3809-2; and
WHEREAS, on May 4, 2004 the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California awarded
the construction contract for Package “A’ improvements to the North Batiquitos Lift Station
through Resolution No. 2004-148; and
WHEREAS, Package “B” improvements to the North Batiquitos Lift Station are necessary
to provide operational safety, equipment protection and compliance with current safety
regulations; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to said project have been
prepared and are on file in the Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and
are incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available to construct the project from the
Sewer Replacement Fund; and
WHEREAS, the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant
to CEQA Section 15301 (d).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the plans, specifications, and contract documents on file in the Public Works-
Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad for Project No. 3809-2 (North Batiquitos Lift
Station Improvements, Package “B”) are hereby approved.

3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of the
North Batiquitos Lift Station Improvements, Package “B, Project No. 3809-2, in accordance with
the plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 1st day of FEBRUARY ,2005 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
