2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
3 A DONATION FROM THE CARLSBAD FRIENDS OF THE ARTS
4 AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS.
5 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts, the non-profit support organization
6
of the City's Cultural Arts Office, has raised funds during the City's 2005 TGIF Jazz
7
Concert Series and through its membership dues; and
8
WHEREAS, the Friends are donating $27,000 to the City to assist with partial
funding of the following programs: $15,000 to offset logistical costs for the 2006 TGIF
11 Jazz Concert Series; $9,500 for the Cannon Art Gallery's "Three-Part-Art" education
12 program for third- and fourth-graders; $1,500 to fund performers for the 2007
13 Multicultural Arts Festival; and $1,000 to fund Cannon Art Gallery receptions.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
17 2. That the donation from the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts, in the amount of
18 $27,000 is hereby accepted.
3. That the Finance Director is hereby authorized to appropriate $15,000 into the
19 Special Events Special Revenue Account org key; $9,500 into the Arts
Educational General Fund org key; $1,500 into the Arts Office General Fund
20 org key; and $1,000 into the Gallery General Fund org key.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 20th day of June 2006, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose
