CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
3 MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT
. REGARDING THE SAVE THE STRAWBERRY AND
FLOWER GROWING FIELDS ACT OF 2006 INITIATIVE

WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Carlsbad, California,6 on November 7,2006, at which there will be submitted to the voters the following measure:

Shall the Carlsbad General Plan be amended to incorporate the provisions
of the "Save the Strawberry and Flower Growing Fields Act of 2006?"

10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
12 1 • That the City Council authorizes the following Council Members:
13 Claude A. Lewis. Mayor Matt Hall. Council Member

15 to file a written argument in opposition to the measure, not to exceed 300 words,
17 accompanied by the printed name(s) and signature(s) of the author(s) submitting it in
13 accordance with Article 1, Chapter 3, Division 9 of the Elections Code of the State of
19 California and to change the argument until 5:00 p.m. on August 23,2006, as fixed by the City
20 Clerk after which no arguments for or against the measure may be submitted to the City Clerk.
21 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of the Resolution.
