2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
3 COUNCIL MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT
4 REGARDING A CITY MEASURE
5 WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Carlsbad, California,
6 on November 7, 2006, at which there will be submitted the following measure:
Shall the Carlsbad General Plan be amended to incorporate the provisions
of the "Permanently Protect The Flower Fields, Strawberry Fields and Open
Space Act of 2006?"

10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
12 1. That the City Council authorizes the following Council Members:

16 to file a written argument in support of the city measure as specified above, not to exceed 300
17 words, accompanied by the printed name(s) and signature(s) of the author(s) submitting it, in
18 accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 9 of the Elections Code of the State of
19
California and to change the argument until 5:00 p.m. on August 23, 2006, as fixed by the City
20
Clerk after which no arguments for or against the measure may be submitted to the City Clerk.
21 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of the Resolution.

of the City of Carlsbad held on the 1st day of August, 2006, by the following vote:
