2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
3 SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE
4 FOR BIDS FOR THE SENIOR CENTER IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 45001-2.

6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has previously
7 appropriated funds in the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Capital Improvement Program for
^ improvements to the existing Carlsbad Senior Center, hereafter referred to as the
9 "Project"; and
10 WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been completed and are ready for
11
advertisement of construction bids and are on file in the Recreation Department of the
12
City of Carlsbad; and13
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad hereby finds it necessary,
!5 desirable, and in the public interest to provide improvements to the Senior Center; and
16 WHEREAS, adequate funds are available in the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Capital
17 Improvement Program for the project in the amount of $1,611,206.

19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
20 Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2_ 2. That the plans and specifications are available in the Recreation
24 Administration Office, 1200 Carlsbad Village Dr., Carlsbad, California.
25 3. That the plans and specifications are hereby approved for the Project, and
26 the City Clerk is authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the Project in
27 accordance with Chapter 3.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 17th day of October, 2006, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose
