A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING
THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE ON-SITE
4 WETLAND MITIGATION RESTORATION FOR RANCHO SANTA
FE ROAD NORTH. PROJECT NO. 3907.

WHEREAS, plans and specification have been approved by the City Council of the
6
City of Carlsbad, California for On-Site Wetland Mitigation Restoration for Rancho Santa Fe Road
7 North, Project No. 3907; and
o
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bid received for the On-Site Wetland
9 Mitigation Restoration work was submitted by Nature's Image in the amount of $156,393.73; and
10 WHEREAS, the total estimated costs for the City's contract for construction of the
11 On-Site Wetland Mitigation Restoration project is $176,000.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the bid of $156,393.73 submitted by Nature's Image for the On-Site Wetland

Mitigation Restoration for Rancho Santa Fe Road North project is accepted.

3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change

orders for the On-Site Wetland Mitigation Restoration for Rancho Santa Fe Road North project,
18 up to $35,000.
19 4. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
execute a contract for the On-Site Wetland Mitigation Restoration for Rancho Santa Fe Road
21 North project with Nature's Image.
22 5. That the award of this contract is contingent upon Nature's Image executing the
23 required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance policies, as directed in the
24 contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution. The City Manager may grant
_ _ reasonable extensions of time.25

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 14th day of November, 2006, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose
