2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE FY 06
3 BUREAU OF JUSTICE AWARD, APPROPRIATING
FUNDS, AND ACCEPTING A BID IN SUPPORT OF LAW
ENFORCEMENT FUNCTIONS.

6 WHEREAS, Carlsbad Police Department has been awarded an FY 2006 Bureau
7 of Justice Congressionally Mandated Award in the amount of $98,763; and
8 WHEREAS, Carlsbad Police Department has identified a firearms simulator as
9 meeting the requirements of the earmark award and the needs of the department; and
10 WHEREAS, proper purchasing procedures have resulted in the receipt of bids
11
from qualified vendors;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
15 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
16 2. That the purchases specified are authorized in compliance with the grant.
17 3. That the Police Chief is authorized to execute all appropriate agreements with
18 the US Department of Justice for receipt of the subject grant funds, as well as
19
any required reports and/or final statements.

4. That the bid of Advanced Interactive Systems is hereby accepted.
21
5. That the Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized and directed to issue a
purchase order for the designated equipment; and
24 6. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $98,763 for Justice
25 Assistance Grant Program purchases.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 14th day of November, 2006, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose
