RESOLUTION NO. 2006-368
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CALIFORNIA
OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY,DUI MINI-GRANT AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO CONDUCT TWO SOBRIETY
CHECKPOINTS IN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD.
WHEREAS, the California Office of Traffic Safety approved the City of Carlsbad's
applications for their Sobriety Checkpoint Mini-Grant Program for Local law
Enforcement Agencies; and
WHEREAS, the goal of this competitive grant is to reduce the number of people
killed statewide in alcohol-related crashes; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Carlsbad Police Department to participate in this
program to help reduce drunk driving locally;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Police Chief is authorized to execute all appropriate agreements with
the California Office of Traffic Safety for receipt of the subject grant funds, as
well as any required reports and/or final statements.
3. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $16,900 for conducting
two sobriety checkpoints.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 19th day of December, 2006, by the following vote: -
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard, Sigafoose
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
