3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, FOR APPROVAL AND AUTHORIZATION
4 TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
URBAN CORPS OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY. INC.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has
6 determined it necessary and in the public interest to enter into an agreement between Urban
Corps of San Diego County, Inc., (Urban Corps) and the City of Carlsbad, California; and
8 WHEREAS, Urban Corps has submitted a proposal to provide Litter Removal Services
9 to the City of Carlsbad; and
10 WHEREAS, Urban Corps' proposal was deemed to be the best value for the City; and
WHEREAS, Urban Corps has the necessary skills and experience to provide excellent
12 service to the citizens of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the existing department operating budget to

fund this contract.14
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as

follows:
16 1 . That the above recitations are true and correct.
17 2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is authorized and directed to execute
° the agreement between Urban Corps of San Diego County, Inc., and the City of Carlsbad for
1 9 Citywide litter removal services.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 6th day of February, 2007, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Council Member Sigafoose.
