2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
3 APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM THE
, CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY FOR THE 2007/2008
PUBLIC LIBRARY STAFF EDUCATION PROGRAM

6 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library meets the eligibility criteria to apply
7 for funds under the 2007/2008 Public Library Staff Education Program; and
8 WHEREAS, the goals of the City Council and the objectives of the Library
9 support learning; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library has library school students who wish to
compete for the tuition assistance funds.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Carlsbad, California as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
16 2. That Library is authorized to apply to the California State Library for a
17 grant on behalf of these employees.
18 3. That If awarded, the Council accepts the grant and directs the Finance
19 Department to appropriate the funds to the Library Administration Budget tuition
20 reimbursement account.

of the City of Carlsbad on the 6th day of March, 2007, by the following vote:
