RESOLUTION NO. 2007-126

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE USED OIL BLOCK
GRANT APPLICATION AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS.

WHEREAS, grant funding has been established by the California Recycling Act and is
5
available to cities and counties through the California Integrated Waste Management Board for
6
establishing and maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or
7
appropriate disposal of used oil; and

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is desirous of applying for these funds; and

WHEREAS, the program requires that the application be approved and a signature
10
authority be appointed by resolution; and
11
WHEREAS, if awarded, the applicant will enter into a Grant Agreement with the California
12
Integrated Waste Management Board for implementation of a used oil collection program; and
13
WHEREAS, the grant funds, totaling $25,622, will be paid on a reimbursement basis.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
15
California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. The submittal of the 2007-2010 Used Oil Block Grant application is approved.
18
3. The Public Works Director, Public Works Administration and Environmental
19
Programs Manager, or designee, are appointed as the signature authorities for the project.
20
4. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $25,622 from the Solid Waste
21
fund for the Used Oil Grant program.
