A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
4 POINSETTIA COMMUNITY PARK PHASE HA TENNIS COURTS,
PROJECT NO. 4502.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
6
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct seven additional tennis courts at the
7
Poinsettia Community Park; and
8
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
9
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Poinsettia
10
Community Park Phase IIA Tennis Courts, Project No. 4502, have been prepared and are on file
in the Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein
by reference; and13 y
WHEREAS, funding for said project has been appropriated from PFF in the 2006/200714
Capital Improvement Program in the amount of $1,089,000 to cover all project costs; and15
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $569,000 are anticipated to be needed to16
complete the project and may be requested at time of award of construction based on actual
award amount.1o
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,i y
20 California, as follows:
P., 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
22 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the Poinsettia
23 Community Park Phase IIA Tennis Courts, Project No. 4502 are on file in the Public Works-
24 Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved.
25 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
2Q publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of
27 Poinsettia Community Park Phase IIA Tennis Courts, Project No. 4502, in accordance with the
28 plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 26th day of June, 2007, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall and Nygaard.
NOES: Packard.
ABSENT: None.
