1 RESOLUTION NO. 2007-278
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND
3 APPROPRIATING A DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF
4 THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY
5 WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library are donating $2,220.00 to the
6 Carlsbad City Library to cover the estimated costs for books, films and various
7 promotional materials in support of the CARLSBAD READS TOGETHER program for
8 April 2008; and

WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have also pledged to cover
, j directly the costs up to $10,240.00 for speakers' honorariums;
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
13 Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

16 2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $2,220.00 from the Friends of the
17 Carlsbad Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes
18 the Finance Director to appropriate the funds as they are received to the
19 Library Special Revenue Fund, Friends donations.
20 3. That the City Council acknowledges with thanks the additional sum of
$10,240.00 pledged in direct support of the CARLSBAD READS TOGETHER

program for April 2008.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 6th day of November, 2007, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
