2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION
3 FROM THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY AND ARTS
4 FOUNDATION AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS
5 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation has generously donated
6 $12,500 to the Carlsbad City Library from the Robert H. Gartner Endowment Fund; and
7 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation has pledged an additional
° $2,500, paid directly to the program provider from the same endowment fund; and
9 WHEREAS, the donation and pledge will enhance cultural programming in the
10 Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium at the Carlsbad City Library as specified in the conditions

of the Robert H. Gartner bequest.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
14 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
15 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
16 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $12,500 from the Carlsbad
17 Library and Arts Foundation and hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
18 appropriate the received funds to the Library budget.

3. That the City Council acknowledges with thanks the additional sum of
20
$2,500 pledged in direct payment to the program provider.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 4th day of December, 2007, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard, and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
