HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-01-08; City Council; Resolution 2008-0021 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-002 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO PERFORM TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPS AND BATTERY BACKUP 4 INSTALLATION CONTRACT NO. PWGS316R. BID NO. PWS08-10STS. WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2007-253 approving contract 5 documents, special provisions and specifications, and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for 6 bids to perform Traffic Signal UPS and Battery Backup Installation, Contract No. PWGS316R and 7 Bid No. PWS08-10STS, hereinafter referred to as the "Project;" and 8 WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad, California to perform 9 Traffic Signal UPS and Battery Backup Installation; and 10 WHEREAS, the bids were opened, witnessed, and recorded on November 14, 2007; 11 and, 12 WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received was submitted by Steiny and Company, IO Inc. in the amount of $194,436; and,14 WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated in the General Fund, Traffic Signals15 Department Capital Outlay budget and CIP budget to complete the project.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:18 1. That the above recitations are true and correct,i y 2. The bid of $194,436 by Steiny and Company, Inc. to perform Traffic Signal UPS and _. Battery Backup Installation, and a contingency account of $20,000 is hereby accepted. 22 3. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute 23 a contract to perform Traffic Signal UPS and Battery Backup Installation, Contract No. PWGS316R 24 and Bid No. PWS08-10STS, with Steiny and Company, Inc. 25 4. That the award of this contract is contingent upon Steiny and Company, Inc. 2Q executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance policies, as 2y described in the contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution.
