2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE
3 RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMUNITY ACTIVITY
GRANT CITIZEN REVIEW COMMITTEE AND
ALLOCATING FUNDS TO THE ORGANIZATIONS
5 IDENTIFIED

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, appointed a
7
seven-member Citizen Review Committee to review Community Activity Grant8
applications and make a recommendation for funding; and;
WHEREAS, the Citizen Review Committee has recommended five organizations
1 1 and their funding level.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED by and between the City Council of the City
13 of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
14 1 . That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the following organizations are hereby granted funds in the amounts
16
shown from the Community Activity Grants fund for the 2007-08 fiscal year in
accordance with Council Policy #51 .
19 Classic Youth Theatre $ 8,000
20 Holidays in the Village 10,000
21 Sculpture by the Sea 5,000
22 Blast to the Past in the Village 5,000
23 Mothers of Preschoolers 2,000
24 TOTAL $30,000

1 3. That Council Policy #51 be amended to allow an organization which has
2 received three years of Community Activity Grant funding to be eligible to
apply and receive an additional two years of funding after a two year hiatus.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 8th day of January, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
