2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A MEMORANDUM
3 OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN REPRESENTATIVES
4 OF MANAGEMENT AND THE CARLSBAD CITY
EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION AND MAKING AN
5 APPROPRIATION THEREFOR.

WHEREAS, representatives of management and the Carlsbad City Employees'
7
Association (CCEA) have met and conferred in good faith pursuant to the Meyers-8
Milias-Brown Act regarding wages and other terms and conditions of employment; and
WHEREAS, said representatives have reached agreement which they desire to
11 submit to the City Council for consideration and approval; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it to be in the public interest to
accept such an agreement in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU),
14 marked Exhibit 2 and incorporated by reference herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of

Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That funding for the increases to salary, the City contribution to health
2Q insurance, and other types of pay described in the MOU is included in the Fiscal Year
21 2007-08 budget.
22 3. That the Salary Schedules for CCEA-represented employees as set forth
23 in Attachment A and Attachment C of Exhibit 2 are hereby approved.
4. That the Memorandum of Understanding between the Carlsbad City
25 Employees' Association and the City of Carlsbad is hereby approved and the City

Manager is authorized and directed to execute it.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
ithof the City of Carlsbad on the 4 day of March, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
