A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO
PERFORM 2007-08 VILLAGE CONCRETE AND HARDSCAPE
4 REPAIRS, PROJECT NO. 60231, CONTRACT NO. STS 08-01,
BID NO. PWS08-16STS.
5 WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2007-297 approving contract
6 documents, special provisions and specifications, and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for
bids to perform 2007-08 Village Concrete and Hardscape Repairs, Project No. 60231,

Contract No. ST S08-01, Bid No. PWS08-16STS, hereinafter referred to as the "Project"; and
Q WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad, California, to perform the
10 Project; and
WHEREAS, the bids were opened, witnessed, and recorded on February 27, 2008; and
12 WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received was submitted by Tri-Group
13 Construction and Development, Inc., in the amount of $222,979; and
14 WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated in the Village Redevelopment Area
15 Operations Fund to complete Project No. 60231.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
17 California, as follows:
18 1 • That the above recitations are true and correct.
19 2. The bid of $222,979 by Tri-Group Construction and Development, Inc., to perform
20 the Project, and a contingency account of $50,000 is hereby accepted.
3. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute
a contract to perform 2007-08 Village Concrete and Hardscape Repairs, Project No. 60231,
Contract No. STS 08-01, and Bid No. PWS08-16STS, with Tri-Group Construction and
Development, Inc.
4. That the award of this contract is contingent upon Tri-Group Construction and
Development, Inc., executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and

insurance policies, as described in the contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this
27
resolution. The City Manager may grant reasonable extensions of time.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 18th day of March, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
