HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-04-15; City Council; Resolution 2008-1081 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-108 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND 3 APPROPRIATING GRANT FUNDS TO THE FIRE 4 DEPARTMENT FOR DISASTER PREPAREDNESS FEDERAL GRANT PROGRAMS 5 6 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Fire Department is eligible to receive Federal grant 7 funds through the Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), of which the Urban Area8 Security Initiative (UASI) grant is a part, for disaster preparedness. The total amount of 10 the grant is $10,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of 12 Carlsbad, California, as follows: 13 1. The above recitations are true and correct. 14 2. The Federal grant funds for UASI require no matching funds. Since all 15 grant-related purchases and training are 100% reimbursable, the City shall incur no costs in FY 2008-09. The City shall incur yearly sustainment costs of approximately 18 $12,000 to be absorbed by the Fire Department General Fund Budget starting in FY 19 2009-10. 20 3. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $10,000 from the 21 General Fund to the Fire Department's Emergency Preparedness Budget for UASI 23 Grant-related purchases and training.
