2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND
3 AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAVEL TO ATLANTA,
GEORGIA TO ALLOW THE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER
COORDINATOR TO ATTEND THE NATIONAL POINTS OF
5 LIGHT CONFERENCE

WHEREAS, the Community Volunteer Coordinator will be able to receive training and8
o information that will increase her ability to involve volunteers to enhance the programs and
1 o services of the City of Carlsbad, and

12 WHEREAS, the Community Volunteer Coordinator, Past President of the National
I -2
Association of Volunteer Programs in Local Government (NAVPLG), will be able to attend the
14 NAVPLG annual meeting to be held at the Points of Light Conference, and
15
16
WHEREAS, the City Council is enhancing their goal to involve volunteers by allowing
17
staff to learn about the latest trends in the field of volunteer management, and
18
19
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
21 California, as follows:
22 1. That the above recitations are true and correct
23 2. That out-of-state travel is hereby authorized in accordance with City policy, for the
24 Community Volunteer Coordinator to attend the 2008 Points of Light Conference on
25
Volunteering and Service.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 15th day of April, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
