A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE AN
AGREEMENT WITH OFFICE PAVILION TO PROVIDE
4 FURNITURE FOR THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY LEARNING
CENTER. PROJECT NOS. 3771 AND 4001.

WHEREAS, on June 13, 2006, through Resolution No. 2006-154, the City Council of the
6
City of Carlsbad awarded the contract for the construction of the Carlsbad City Library Learning
Center, Project Nos. 3771 and 4001, to Telacu Construction Management; and

WHEREAS, construction of the Library Learning Center is scheduled to be completed by
9
the end of June 2008; and
10
WHEREAS, Section 3.28.090 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code provides that the City may
participate in cooperative purchasing programs with other public agencies, and;
WHEREAS, based on a Government Price Agreement with U. S. Communities, Office1 o
Pavilion San Diego is currently under contract with the City to supply furnishings, fixtures, and14
equipment for City projects, and;15
WHEREAS, the City requested a proposal from Office Pavilion San Diego to provide16
furniture for the City Library Learning Center; and
WHEREAS, a proposal was received from Office Pavilion in the total amount of18
$128,174.87 for office furniture for learning rooms, staff rooms, and computer rooms,i y
2Q NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
21 California, as follows:
22 1 • That the above recitations are true and correct.
23 2. That the Purchasing Department is hereby authorized and directed to issue a
24 Purchase Order in the amount of $128,174.87 to Office Pavilion San Diego.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 10th day of June, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Packard.
