2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
3 DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE
CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY AND APPROPRIATING
THE RECEIVED FUNDS

WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $61,166 to the

Carlsbad City Library for the purchase of children's books; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have pledged an additionalo
$23,650 in direct support of programs and supplies planned for the Fall and Winter of
10 2008 and the Spring of 2009;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
12 Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

15 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $61,166 from the Friends of
16 the Carlsbad Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, for the purchase of
17 children's books, and authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the
18 received funds to the Library budget.
19 3. That the City Council acknowledges with thanks the additional sum of
20
$23,650 pledged in direct support for programs and supplies for Fall and
21
Winter of 2007 and Spring of 2008.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 17th day of June, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
