A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
DONATION FROM THE SAN DIEGO COUNCIL ON
WHEREAS, The Carlsbad City Library literacy program (previously known as
the Adult Learning Program) has instituted a book club for the learners in the program
and these funds will be used to purchase MP3 players for audio books to allow
12 readers at all levels to take part in book club discussions;
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
14
Carlsbad, California, as follows:15
16 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $853.00 from the San Diego

appropriate the received funds to the Library budget.
Council on Literacy and hereby authorizes the Finance Director to

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 9th day of September, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
