2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, RECEVING AND
3 APPROPRIATING A CASH DONATION IN THE AMOUNT
4 OF $1,000 TO THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT
SPORTSMANSHIP/T.R.U.S.T. PROGRAM.

6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, wishes to accept
7 a cash donation in the amount of $1,000 and acknowledge the generosity and support
8 of the Rotary Club of Encinitas; and
9
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Recreation Department assisted the Rotary Club of
10
Encinitas in scheduling and coordinating field use for a soccer tournament fundraiser;
11
and
12
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to promote and support the Recreation
Department Sportsmanship/T.R.U.S.T. Program; and
15 WHEREAS, on August 18, 2008 the City's Parks and Recreation Commission
16 received the cash donation and has recommended acceptance of the cash donation by
17 the City Council.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
| Q Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council does hereby accept the cash donation in the amount of
23 $1,000.
24 3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate
25 $1,000 cash donation into the Recreation Trust account.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 7th day of October, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
