2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A REVISED
3 SALARY SCHEDULE FOR CLASSIFICATIONS
, REPRESENTED BY THE CARLSBAD POLICE OFFICERS'
ASSOCIATION

6 WHEREAS, representatives of management and the Carlsbad Police Officers'
7 Association conducted negotiations pursuant to the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act regarding
8 wages and other terms and conditions of employment for the period
9 January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009; and
10 WHEREAS, said representatives reached agreement and submitted the
11
Memorandum of Understanding to the City Council which was approved; and
12
WHEREAS, the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding call for a 5%
. general wage increase effective the pay period including January 1, 2009, and
15 WHEREAS, funds for this salary adjustment are available and have been
16 included in the General Fund operating budget for Fiscal Year 2008/09; and
17 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the Personnel Rules and
18 Regulations allow for the delegation of authority to the City Manager or his/her
19 designee to amend salary schedules in the future, in order to maintain agreement with
20 approved Memoranda of Understanding.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
22
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

24 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
25 2. That the Carlsbad Police Officers' Association Salary Schedule set forth in
26 Attachment A, attached hereto and made a part thereof, is adopted.

3. That the City Manager or his/her designee is authorized to amend salary
schedules in accordance with approved Memoranda of Understanding.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 6tb day of January ,
2009, by the following vote:
AYES: Council members Lewis, Kulcbin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
