2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE
3 RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMUNITY ACTIVITY
GRANT CITIZEN REVIEW COMMITTEE AND
ALLOCATING FUNDS TO THE ORGANIZATIONS
5 IDENTIFIED

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, appointed a
7
seven-member Citizen Review Committee to review Community Activity Grant8
applications and make a recommendation for funding; and;
WHEREAS, the Citizen Review Committee has recommended eight (8)
1 1 organizations and their funding level.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED by and between the City Council of the City
13 of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
14 1 . That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the following organizations are hereby granted funds in the amounts
16
shown from the Community Activity Grants Fund for the 2008-09 Fiscal Year in
accordance with Council Policy No. 51:
Carlsbad Village Business Association $5,000
Phoenix House 5,000
Community Resource Center 5,000

Assistance League of San Dieguito 6,000
22
Carlsbad Educational Foundation 3,000
23
Assistance League North Coast 5,000
24 Carlsbad Community Theatre 4,000
25 Carlsbad Explorers 7.000
26 TOTAL $40,000

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 10th day of February, 2009, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
