HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-02-17; City Council; Resolution 2009-0351 RESOLUTION NO. 2009-035 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRAFFIC 4 SIGNAL AT FARADAY AVENUE AND RUTHERFORD ROAD, PROJECT NO. 6312-1. 5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it 6 necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct a traffic signal at the intersection of Faraday Avenue and Rutherford Road; and 8 WHEREAS, eight (8) sealed bids were received on January 27, 2009 for the project: and9 WHEREAS, the lowest responsive, responsible bid for the project was submitted by10 T&M Electric, Inc., in the amount of $145,800; and11 WHEREAS, there are sufficient Gas Tax funds available to complete construction of the traffic signal. \ O NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,14 California, as follows: I 0 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.16 2. That the low bid submitted by T&M Electric, Inc., in the amount of $145,800, is hereby accepted and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City for1o the construction of the traffic signal at Faraday Avenue and Rutherford Road,i y Q 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change 21 orders up to $21,870 for Project No. 6312-1. 22 4. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the bidder submitting the 23 lowest responsible bid executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and 24 insurance policies, as described in the contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this 25 resolution.
