A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
4 POINSETTIA COMMUNITY PARK PHASE IIB PARKING LOTS,
PROJECT NO. 4504.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
6
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct two additional parking lots at the
7
Poinsettia Community Park; and
8
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
9
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Poinsettia
Community Park Phase IIB Parking Lots, Project No. 4504, have been prepared and are on file in11
the Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by
reference; and13
WHEREAS, funding for said project has been appropriated from Public Facilities Fund in
the 2008/2009 Capital Improvement Program in the amount of $963,400 to cover all project costs15
and is sufficient; and16
WHEREAS, payment of prevailing wages will not be required as part of the construction

,Q NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,i y
2Q California, as follows:
2-, 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
22 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the Poinsettia
23 Community Park Phase IIB Parking Lots, Project No. 4504 are on file in the Public Works-
24 Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved.
25 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
2Q publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of
27 Poinsettia Community Park Phase IIB Parking Lots, Project No. 4504, in accordance with the
28 plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 10th day of March, 2009, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
