2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION
3 FROM THE CARLSBAD FRIENDS OF THE ARTS AND
4 APPROPRIATING THE RECEIVED FUNDS

6 WHEREAS, Vne Carlsbad Friends of the Arts has generously offered to donate
7 $20,000 to the Cultural Arts Office for the 2009 TGIF Jazz in the Parks program; and
8 WHEREAS, this donation will provide $20,000 for personnel and operational
9
services such as part-time crew, shuttle buses, porta-toilets, truck rentals, trash and
10
recycling services, and supplies at the TGIF Jazz concerts.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
12
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

14 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
15 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $20,000 from the Carlsbad
16 Friends of the Arts on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, to cover personnel
17 and operational services related to the 2009 TGIF Jazz in the Parks
18 program, and authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the received
19
funds to the Cultural Arts Office budget.

3. That the City Council acknowledges with thanks the donation.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 16th day of June, 2009, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
