A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, FINDING THAT IT IS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF
THE CITY OF CARLSBAD TO REQUIRE THE PAYMENT OF
PREVAILING WAGES FOR TWO MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
AGREEMENTS.
5 WHEREAS, ihe City of Carlsbad requires the services of various maintenance and

services contractors; and
7 WHEREAS, measurable cost savings may be realized if various maintenance and
8 service agreements including the Tree Trimming Maintenance Services and the Traffic Signal
9 Maintenance Services agreements are let without the requirement to pay prevailing wages; and
10 WHEREAS, staff recommends Council make a finding that it is not in the best interest of
the City of Carlsbad to require the payment of prevailing wages for the above mentioned
. _ maintenance arid services agreements^ and
WHEREAS, State and Federal funding will not be utilized for the above-mentioned

maintenance and service agreements.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
15 California, as follows:
16 1 • That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That measurable cost savings may be realized if two maintenance and service
agreements are let without a requirement to pay prevailing wages.
18 3. That State and/or Federal funding will not be utilized for these maintenance and
service agreements.
20 4. That a finding is made that it is not in the best interest of the City of Carlsbad to
21 require the payment of prevailing wages for the Tree Trimming Maintenance Services and Traffic
Signal Maintenance Services agreements.
