2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING SAN DIEGO
3 POLICE FOUNDATION GRANT FUNDS AND
. APPROPRIATING THESE FUNDS TO THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT FOR DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the Carlsbad Fire Department to submit
7
an application to the San Diego Police Foundation for a variety of Community
o
Emergency Response Team (CERT)-related equipment and Fire Prevention home
disaster prevention kits for a total amount of $58,723; and
1 * WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Fire Department received an award to
$20,662.50 for CERT Program Volunteer Training and Uniforms; and

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Fire Department is eligible to receive San Diego14
Police Foundation grant funds for disaster preparedness.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
17 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
18 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
19 2. The San Diego Police Foundation grant funds are one-time funds, which
20
require no matching funds.

3. The Fire Chief, or the Fire Chief's designee, is authorized to execute any
22
and all documents related to the San Diego Police Foundation Grant Fund award to the23 a
24 Carlsbad Fire Department.
25 4. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate the San Diego
26 Police Foundation Grant Fund award of $20,663 to the Carlsbad Fire Department
27 Emergency Preparedness Budget for CERT-related training and uniforms.

of the City of Carlsbad on the 1 1th day of August, 2009, by the following vote to wit:
