2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
3 MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE, IN THE NAME
4 OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, ALL NECESSARY FORMS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPLYING FOR GRANT
5 FUNDING FROM THE SAN DIEGO POLICE FOUNDATION
K-9 ASSISTANCE PROJECT.

WHEREAS, the San Diego Police Foundation is accepting applications for their

K-9 Assistance Project for local law enforcement agencies; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the competitive grant is to expand and enhance the work
11 of police canine units throughout San Diego County; and
12 WHEREAS, it is the desire of Carlsbad Police Department to participate in this
program to provide funding to replace a retiring police canine;
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.17
2. That Council authorizes the submittal of this grant application.
19 3. That the City Manager or designee is authorized to execute, in the name of
20 the City of Carlsbad, all necessary forms for the purpose of applying for grant
21 funding from the San Diego Police Foundation K9 Assistance Project.
