A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING
DONATIONS OF $10,350 IN CASH AND $12,620 IN PRODUCTS AND
4 IN-KIND SERVICES FOR A TOTAL OF $22,970 IN SUPPORT OF THE
2009 CARLSBAD HEALTH AND WELLNESS WEEKEND.

6 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Health and Wellness Weekend was held on
7 July 11th and 12th, 2009 in Carlsbad; and

WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the donations of cash, products,
9
and in-kind service donations totaling $22,970 in support of the Carlsbad Health and
10
Wellness Weekend, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 2 and made a part
12 hereof; and
13 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support
14 of community vendors and organizations that donated to this special event; and
15 WHEREAS, on September 21st, the Parks and Recreation Commission received
individual donations and in kind services totaling $22,970 and recommends acceptance
17 by the Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
19
Carlsbad, California, the following:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.21
22 2. That the City Council does hereby accept $10,350 in cash and $12,620 in
23 products and in-kind service donations totaling $22,970 as itemized in Exhibit 2.
24 3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
25 appropriate $10,350 into the Triathlon Contribution Special Revenue Fund, for the use
26 specified by the donators.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 20^ day of October. 2009, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
