2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND
3 APPROPRIATING GRANT FUNDS TO THE FIRE
4 DEPARTMENT FROM SAN DIEGO GAS AND ELECTRIC
FOR COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM
5 PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the Fire Department is eligible to receive a San Diego Gas and
7
Electric (SDG&E) mini-grant for emergency preparedness through the Community8
9 Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.
IQ WHEREAS, Council authorized the Fire Department to apply for the SDG&E
11 CERT mini-grant in the amount of $2,500 and SDG&E has approved the Fire
12 Department's grant request.

14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. The above recitations are true and correct.

18 2. The SDG&E mini-grant funds require no matching funds.
19 3. The Council authorizes the receipt of grant funds.
20 4. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate the $2,500 SDG&E CERT
21 mini-grant funds to the Fire Department Emergency Preparedness Program.

5. That the Fire Chief, or Fire Chief's designee, is authorized to execute any and
23
all documentation associated with the San Diego Gas and Electric CERT
24
mini-grant to enhance the City of Carlsbad's Emergency Preparedness
26 Program.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 27 day of October . 2009, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard, and Blackburn
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
