2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND
3 APPROPRIATING FEDERAL STATE HOMELAND
. SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS TO THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

6 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Police and Fire Departments are eligible to
7 receive federal grant funds through the FY 2009 State Homeland Security Grant
8 Program (SHSGP) for emergency preparedness.
9 WHEREAS, the total amount of the grant is $185,400.
10 WHEREAS, the Fire Department will be administering the SHSGP grant funds on
11
behalf of the City.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
. Carlsbad, California, as follows:
15 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
16 2. The SHSGP grant funds require no matching funds. Since all grant-related
17 purchases and planning costs are 100% reimbursable, the City shall incur no
18 costs.

3. That Council authorizes the receipt of grant funds.

4. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate funds totaling $185,400 to
22 the Fire Department's General Fund budget.
23 5. That the Fire Chief, or his designee, is authorized to execute any and all
24 documentation associated with the FY 2009 State Homeland Security Grant
25 Program (SHSGP) grant funds which are designed to enhance the City of
*yf\Carlsbad's emergency preparedness programs.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 10th day of November. 2009, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Member Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard, and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
