RESOLUTION NO. 2010-032

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, TO APPROVE A SERVICE
AGREEMENT WITH URBAN CORPS OF SAN DIEGO, INC. FOR
4 CITYWIDE LITTER REMOVAL SERVICES.

WHEREAS, Urban Corps of San Diego, Inc., (Urban Corps) is a non-profit conservation
6
corporation created by the City of San Diego; and
7
WHEREAS, Carlsbad Municipal Code § 3.28.110(A)(6) states that "Goods, services
8
and/or professional services obtained from or through agreement with any governmental, public
9
or quasi public agency" are exempted from the purchasing ordinance; and
10
WHEREAS, Urban Corps has submitted a proposal to the City to provide litter removal
services from roadways and storm drain outfalls; and
WHEREAS, Urban Corps has the necessary skills and experience to provide excellent

service to the citizens of Carlsbad; and14
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the existing department operating budget to

fund this agreement.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:1o
1 g 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
20 2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is authorized and directed to execute the
21 agreement between Urban Corps of San Diego, Inc., and the City of Carlsbad for
22 citywide litter removal services.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 23rd day of February, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
